Sports at schools for the Deaf DUE Wed., Sept. 24, 2008

Deaf students at schools for the Deaf all over the United States are involved in sports. They play soccer, volleyball, football, basketball, track, etc. Most schools for the Deaf play against other schools for the Deaf. Do you feel that sports programs at schools are important? Do you feel that SSSD should play against other schools for the Deaf? How would you feel if our sports program was dropped or if all of the games against other schools for the Deaf were cancelled? Answer the questions and explain your thoughts.

Of course, y'all know me as athletic. I really love to be athletic. I ain't allow sport programs dropped. If it was dropped, I will be mad, protest for that! SSSD against other deaf school is wonderful idea. It giving us opportunity to meet other people. Sport programs are very important. It keep us in shape, strong, and intillegent mind. SSSD against other school will be BIG CHALLENGE.

yes, I do think sports are important. It shows us more character, endurance, and spirits. Without it all of us would be lost and the school wouldnt be really great place to go there. plus playing sports gives us alot of opporunity to make more friends out from the school. Plus playing sports againist the other deaf teams gives us a knowledge how they learn and how they play.. we would feel aggrivated and angered from not having any sports.

I not instest any sport but I love only is ski club, and Motorcross Race. I love ski club because I like to go fast and chill! I want learn to trick and freesyle! I want high student can join ski for winter season. I love Motorcross because I have own two Dirt Bikes. I wish we can set-up Motorcross club in SSSD because I never heard any school have motorcross club in United States. I wish our school can set-up track for Dirt Bikes...

I not care about soccer or baseket or whatever, what I not instest sports. Just, I love ski for only winter season. Also, I love motorcross for any season.
Ski and motorcross is very challenge than any sport! I was little pissed because only 2 sports in SSSD. Just, only soccer and volley. But I not instest. I will chat staff who set-up more clubs and more games than two sports.

Yes, it is very important our sports program. Will you cancel our sports program? What happen to our students in future? Will they improve their communication, opportunities for personal growth, experiences, health and share knowledge? If you cancel our sports program, then we will not exercise as well and miss our opportunities to meet deaf people like us or see real out the world. They will meet deaf people for learn from new info, jokes, leadership, role model and knowledge. If they met through sports then a few years later they will met again at college or jobs. Because we are small deaf people and need support each other. We also love to play sports and enjoy against other school for the deaf. They like to play against with their friends from other schools. We are keep it sports for our health and out there opportunities.

Hello,

Sports were not concerned me at all. I am not really in with sports anymore. But, sports programs for school is important? Well, not during school day, after school, it is make sense. Most of hearing school, any sports games tend to be on Friday, after school or on week, after school. It never interrupted during school day. So, SSSD, it should do same thing.

I feel that SSSD should play against both, hearing and deaf school. Because, others deaf school is very far away from SSSD. So, the game on schedules may be fewer than included hearing school.

If sports program was dropped, well, I dont mind, as long we have gym class. Again, sports do not concerned to me at all. Other students are against it, tell it to board of school.

Good Night.
